Suddenly, I hear a large bang and bolt upright in time to see the door hit the wall for the second time.

“What is going on in here?” Roman is standing in the doorway. His eyes narrow on me. He is pissed.

“What? We’re all getting massages,” I say in my defense as the masseur cowers in a corner with his hands clasped in front of him. His eyes are fixed on the floor, and he is shaking.

“No man touches you, Dasha. No one. Do I make myself clear?”

“It’s not sexual, Roman. Are you going to dictate every moment of my life? I’m not doing anything wrong.”

“I said no one touches you,” he repeats, and from his scowl, I know he’s not going to let this go.

“Fine. Have it your way.” I clutch the sheet around me and hop off the table. Walking like a geisha in the sheet, I grab my wet swimsuit and storm past him.

“I am the only man who will touch you,” he says, following on my heels.

“How did you know where I was?”

“I know everything that happens on this vessel and in your life. Get used to it.”

“You think you can always tell me what to do?”

I wish I could run, but the sheet is wrapped around me like a mummy. When we get to our cabin, I head straight to the bathroom and toss my suit on the shower floor.

“My rules are meant to keep you safe.” His voice is lower, but he hasn’t calmed down. “Don’t you understand? I love you. I need to know you are safe all the time.”
